A classic Italian kale with beautiful dark leaves and outstanding flavor! Nero di Toscana Precoce is a traditional Tuscan variety known for its long, deeply wrinkled, dark green leaves that can appear almost black.

Often known as Tuscan kale, Lacinato kale, or dinosaur kale, this cold-hardy variety has a rich flavor that becomes even sweeter after exposure to frost. The tender leaves are incredibly versatile and can be harvested for soups, pasta, sautés, salads, stews, and traditional Italian dishes.

Nero di Toscana Precoce is exceptionally hardy and performs particularly well as a cool-season crop. Seeds can be direct sown or started as transplants after the last frost, with plants spaced approximately 10–12 inches apart.
