A beautiful Italian heirloom beet with distinctive red-and-white rings and exceptionally sweet flavor! Chioggia is a traditional variety from Italy known for its striking striped interior that reveals alternating circles of red and white when sliced.

The round roots are tender, mild, and notably sweet, making Chioggia an excellent choice even for gardeners who don't typically enjoy the stronger earthy flavor associated with some beets.

Don't overlook the greens! The attractive beet tops are also edible and can be harvested and prepared much like Swiss chard or spinach. Enjoy them sautéed, braised, or added to soups and other dishes.

Plant beginning around the last frost date and make succession plantings approximately every three weeks for an extended harvest. For the best texture and flavor, harvest roots when they reach approximately 2–4 inches across.
