A classic Italian Borlotti bean prized for its beautiful coloring, rich flavor, and excellent productivity! Lamon is a traditional climbing bean from the Veneto region of Italy and is widely enjoyed throughout Italian cuisine.

The vigorous plants produce distinctive cream-colored beans with beautiful red flecking inside mottled cream, red, and brownish pods. Lamon can be harvested young as a fresh shelling bean or left on the plant to fully mature for use as a dry bean.

For fresh shelling, harvest when the pods become plump and develop their characteristic red and cream coloring. Regular harvesting encourages the plants to continue producing throughout the season.

This vigorous pole bean requires support and can be grown on a trellis, tripod, mesh, or individual poles. For poles, sow 4–5 seeds around the base and thin to the strongest 2–3 plants. For a trellis, sow approximately 2 seeds every 6 inches and thin to one plant every 6 inches.
